Mechanics Flashcards
1
Q
Newton’s first law
A
An object at rest will stay at rest and an object moving at a constant velocity will continue moving at a constant velocity unless acted upon by a force
2
Q
What does the resultant force say about the direction of acceleration of an object
A
The particle is accelerating in the same direction as the resultant force
3
Q
Newton’s second law
A
F=ma, the force needed to accelerate a particle is equal to the product of the mass of the particle and the acceleration produced.
