Mortality
the number of deaths in a population over a given time
Morbidity
the ill health of an individual and the level of ill health within a population
Incidence
the number of new cases of a disease or condition in a population in a given period of time
Prevalence
the number of total cases of a disease or condition in a population in a given time period
Life Expectancy
the number of years of life, on average, remaining to an individual at a particular age if death rates remain unchanged
YLL (Years of Life Lost)
the amount of years of life lost due to premature death
YLD (Years of Life Lost to Disability)
the amount of how many healthy years of life are lost due to disease, injury or disability
DALY( Disability adjusted life years
a measure of burden of disease, one DALY is equal to one year of life lost due to an illness and/or death
Health Status
an individual’s or population’s overall health, taking into account various aspects like life expectancy, amount of disability and levels of disease risk factors
