What is a true bearing?
A true bearing is an angle measured clockwise from north to the required direction. It is always written with the letter ‘T’ after the degrees or minutes symbol. E.g a bearing of 45° is written as 45°T.
What is a compass bearing?
A compass bearing uses the four directions on the compass as well as those in between them. A compass bearing of S50°w, is found by measuring an angle of 50° from the south direction towards the west side.
