Opisometer
It can be used to measure short curved lines for example a road or a river on a map
Measuring length
A metre stick or ruler measures straight lines

Used to measure long curved lengths for example around a flower bed

To find the diameter or width of a solid object for example marble or a piece of piping

Area is how much space something covers Area= length x width
Mass
Mass is the amount of matter in an object
Volume
Volume tells you how much space something takes up
Volume of an irregular object
A stone or a potato does not have straight edges, it is irregular
Float
An object will float in a liquid if it is less dense than the liquid
Ice
Will float on water as it is less dense than water
Speed
The distance traveled for using time
Velocity
Is an object is the distance it travels per minute unit time
Acceleration
Acceleration is measured in metre per second. Per second (m/s/s) or metre per second squared
The Change in velocity per second is known as the acceleration of the body
