What is Standard form/Scientific Notation?
Standard form or Scientific Notation is a way of writing a number so it is easier to read. It is often used for very large or very small numbers.
What is Standard Form’s Format?
a ×10^b
How do you explain Standard Form?
a is a number whose absolute value is a decimal number greater than or equal to 1, and less than 10 and b is an integer and is the power of 10 required so that the product of the multiplication in standard form equals the original number.
How do you know the places you have to move the decimal point?
When the number is 10 or greater, the decimal point moves to the left and the power of 10 is positive.
When the number is smaller than 1, the decimal point moves to the right and the power of 10 is negative.
What are the rules for calculating with significant digits?
When adding or subtracting, round the answer to the least number of significant places.
When multiplying or dividing, round the answer to the least number of significant places.
