Cerebellar test
Touch finger to thumb (trumpet)
Flip hands over back and forth
Rapid alternation movement
Touching nose then pen light
PERRLA
Eyes are equal and round
Corneal light reflex
Point light at bridge of nose and observe if glare is in same spot of both eyes
Accommodation
Focusing from the curtain to the pen light
6 cardinal fields of gaze
Follow pen light with eyes
Make an X, and then side to side
Pupillary construction
Make barrier on nose of patient with your hair
Shine line in each eye to look for pupil change
A:P lateral ratio
Assess sides of rib cage, then the front
Patient should have wider chest than they do for front to back
This asses for barrel chest
Sharp dull
Break q tip and poke patients legs with some sharp and some dull and ask which they think it was
8 total slots, with 2 of those being on the feet
Romberg test
Have patient stand up
Put their hands to their sides, close eyes
Observe if they stand still or sway
No swaying = negative Romberg
