19
Q

COA DEV Echelon’s Arrayed

A

Two Levels Down

20
Q

Constraint

A

A constraint is a
restriction placed on the command by a higher command or Constraints could also be based on resource limitations in the command, information release
restrictions, or legal constraints

21
Q

Threat Temp

A

Threat templates graphically portray how the threat might use its capabilities to perform the functions
required to accomplish its objectives when not constrained by the effects of the OE.

(How the Doctrinally Fight)

22
Q

SIT TEMP

A

situation template is a depiction of assumed adversary dispositions, based on that adversary’s
preferred method of operations and the impact of the operational environment if the adversary should adopt
a particular course of action (JP 2-01.3).

23
Q

Event Temp

A

An event template is a guide for collection planning that depicts the named areas of interest where
activity, or its lack of activity, will indicate which course of action the adversary has adopted (Time Phase Lines, NAIs, Threat Decision Points)

24
Q

Shaping Operation

A

shaping operation is an operation at any echelon that creates and preserves conditions for
success of the decisive operation through effects on the enemy, other actors, and the terrain.

25
Q

Sustaining Operation

A

A sustaining operation is an operation at any echelon that enables the decisive operation or
shaping operations by generating and maintaining combat power.

26
Q

Decisive OP

A

Decisive, shaping, and sustaining operations lend themselves to a broad conceptual orientation. The
decisive operation is the operation that directly accomplishes the mission.

27
Q

Wargaming Record

A

Sync Matric or Sketch Note

28
Q

RDSP

A

The RAPID DECISION-MAKING AND SYNCHRONIZATION PROCESS is a decision-making and planning􀀃technique that commanders and staffs commonly use
during execution. While the MDMP seeks the optimal􀀃solution, the RDSP seeks a timely and effective
solution within the commander’s intent, mission, and concept􀀃of operations

29
Q

WARNORDS Publish During MDMP

A

Step 1: Receipt of Mission
Step 2: Mission Analysis
Step 6: COA Approval

30
Q

What are three key outputs of wargaming?

A

Refined COA
* Draft DST/DSM
* Synch mat/sketch notes
* Refined task organization
* Potential branches/sequels

31
Q

What are three outputs of IPB?

A
  • Threat COA
    o Situation template
    o COA statement
  • High value target list
  • MCOO
  • Event template
  • Event matrix
