Mobile Device Management - A slight misnomer since all devices, not just Mobile, are managed using MDM
ADM
Apple Device Management - MDM that’s specific to only Apple device
UEM
Unified Endpoint Management - Let’s you Manage Platforms from many vendors, like Apple, Microsoft, Android, etc
ABM/ASM
Apple Business Manager / Apple School Manager- Apple Business Manager enables automated device enrollment, giving organizations a fast, streamlined way to deploy corporate-owned Apple devices and enroll in MDM without having to physically touch or prepare each device.
Apps & Books
Apple’s framework for Enterprise licensing and distribution of Applications and Books from the Apple App Store.
Needs ABM enrollment. (FKA VPP/Volume Purchase Program)
ADE
Automated Device Enrollment - Apple’s framework for Zero-Touch Enrollment.
Needs ABM enrollment (FKA DEP/Device Enrollment Program)
APNs
Apple Push Notification service - Apple’s notification service that enables MDM solutions to install profiles/apps on Apple devices
macOS
Operating System used by Apple Mac devices; each major version of macOS has its own name like “Big Sur” or “Catalina” (Mac OS X (pronounced Mac Oh Es Ten))
IdP
Identity Provider - Identity providers such as Okta, Azure AD, Ping, OneLogin, Google Workspace, etc.
AD
Active Directory - A database of users within an organization
O365
Office 365 - A Microsoft product that provides Software tools such as MS Office, and services such as identity management.
Bash/ZSHl/Python
Programming languages specifically used by Admins to automate tasks
Swift
Primary programming language for creating apps compatible with Apple devices
API
Application Programming Interface - A programming standard used to programmatically (ie Not using the GUI) pass commands and data between applications or services.
DMG
Disk Image - A format for managing Disk images typically used to deploy applications
