What is the point of giving the genealogy of Jesus?
Matthew shows the royal genealogy, showing how Jesus has the right to be king of Israel

Matthew goes through Mary’s lineage and includes women. But Luke goes through Joseph’s
Why did Matthew include women in the lineage of Jesus?
Professor Merrill says that because the women included were all of spotty backgrounds, the Jews (who are descendants of these women) have less ground to judge a women who is going to give birth without being with a man
What’s the difference between a Levite and a priest?
Levite = today’s deacon & teachers
Priest = today’s priest

This was the prophet who saw the destruction of the world around him. He is now sent to declare the Savior of that world
