Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space.
What are 3 States of Matter.
Solid, Liquid and Gas.
Physical Changes are:
Alterations that do not change the substance into something new.
Chemical Changes are:
Processes that result in the formation of new substances.
Give examples of physical properties.
Density, State, Texture, Colour, State.
Give example of chemical properties.
Reactivity with other substances, flammability, rusting.
How close are the particles in a solid?
The particles are closely packed and vibrate in place.
How close are the particles in a liquid?
The particles are close together but can move past each other.
How close the particles in a gas?
The particles are far apart and move freely.
A solid has:
Definite shape and volume.
A liquid has:
Definite volume but takes the shape of its container.
A gas has:
No definite shape or volume.
