MATS 1 Lists Flashcards
1
Q
Land After Criteria
A
- Day only
- The controller is satisfied that the second aircraft will be able to see the first aircraft clearly and continuously until it has vacated
- The previously landing aircraft does not require to backtrack to vacate
- The runway is long enough to allow adequate separation and no evidence that braking action will be adversely affected
- The pilot of the second aircraft is warned, responsibility for separation rests with the pilot of the second aircraft
2
Q
Multiple Line-Up Criteria
A
- Day only
- Same frequency
- All aircraft continuously visible to the controller
- The physical characteristics of the runway do not render the succeeding aircraft invisible to the following aircraft
- Pilots are advised of the number of aircraft ahead in the departure sequence, and the position/runway that these will depart from
3
Q
SVFR Minima
A
- Cloud Ceiling 600ft
Fixed Wing:
- MET Visibility: 1500m
Helicopters:
- MET Visibility: 800m
If in flight visibility is reported greater than SVFR minima, may transit the CTR remaining outside of the ATZ
4

7
Q
Uses of the ATM
A
- Determine the landing order, spacing and distance from touchdown of arriving aircraft
- Assist in applying longitudinal separation to departing aircraft
- Enable the controller to confirm the track of departing aircraft conforms with the clearance issued
- Provide information to aircraft on the position of other aircraft in the circuit or carrying out an instrument approach
- Following identification, validate SSR codes of departing aircraft and verify associated Mode C readouts
- Monitor the progress of overflying aircraft identified by Approach Radar Control to ensure that they do not conflict with arriving or departing aircraft
- Establish separation between departing aircraft
- Pass traffic information
- Establish separation in the event of a missed approach
- Assist in taking initial corrective action when the separation between arriving aircraft becomes less than the prescribed minima
8

Q
IRVR Reporting Commences When…
A
- MET report shows visibility less than 1500m
- IRVR display indicates value equal to or less than maximum for the system
- When shallow fog is reported and during a period for which it is forecast
