What is a term?
A term is either a single number, variable, or numbers and variables multiplied together.
What is a variable?
The letter, or symbol, used to represent the unknown.
What is a coefficient?
A number that multiplies with a variable.
What is an expression?
A mathematical phrase that can contain numbers, variables, and operators.
What is an equation?
Two expressions with an equals sign between them.
What is a formula?
A formula states a fact or rule.
How do you multiply indices?
Add the powers.
How do you divide indices?
Subtract the powers.
How do you expand single brackets?
The number outside the bracket is multiplied by everything inside the bracket.
How do you factorise single brackets?
You find the HCF of each term. Put the HCF outside the bracket and put the factors inside.
What is linear sequences?
A number pattern which increases(or decreases) by the same amount each time.
