Line graph
A graph used to show how a set of data changes over a period of time.
Stem and leaf plot
A system used to condense a set of data where the greatest place value of the data forms the stem and the next greatest place value form the leaves.
Line plot
A diagram that shows the frequence of data on a number line.
Mean
The sum of the numbers in a set of data divided by the number of pieces of data
Median
The middle number in a set of data when the data are arranged in numerical order. If the data has an even number the medium is the mean of the two middle numbers.
Mode
The numbers or items that appear most often in a set of data.
Range
The difference between the greatest number and the least number in a set of data.
Negative number
A number that is less than zero
Positive number
A number that is greater than zero
Opposites
Numbers that are the same distance from zero in opposites directions
Integers
The whole numbers and their opposites
Bar graph
A graph using bars to compare quintiles. The height or length of each bar represents a designated number.
Stem and leaf plot
To display the data in a more readable way. In a stem and leaf plot you order the data from least to greatest. Then you organize the data by place value.
Standard form
Is the usual way to wright a decimal,such as 3.52.
Expanded form
Is a sum of the products of each digit and its place.
