the amount of the number, without any positive or negative sign

numbers that appear one after the other in a sequence

scale factor; the way that your “input “ changes to become your “output”

another way of writing “10 to the power of x”, shorthand for large numbers with a lot of place values

a math problem with two portions set equal to each other
What is an exponent?
the number of times you multiply a number by itself
What’s an expression?
any set of numbers, variables, or combination of both WITHOUT being set equal to anything else. Expressions are often just pieces of an equation.
What is a function?
an equation that shows the relationship between two variables
What is inequality?
an equation that shows that the two pieces are not equal to each other, but are greater than or less than each other.
What are integers?
whole numbers + negatives
What are intervals?
the range of numbers between two set values
What are irrational numbers?
decimals that go on forever without a repeating pattern
