Math Test Study Cards Flashcards
What is the area formula of a circle?
Pie R squared.
R= radius
Pie= 3.14
Always multiply
Example: C=8 double 8 (16) then multiply by 3.14
What is the area formula for a trapezoid?
Half the height (B1 + B2) add base one and base two then multiply them by the height
What is the area formula of a parallelogram?
Base times height
What is the area formula of a rectangle?
Base times height
What is the area formula of a triangle?
Base times height divided by 2
What is the area formula of a square?
Length of the side times 2
A x 2
Supplementary equals to what?
180
What is an isosceles triangle?
A triangle with only two of the same sides and one side is different
What is a scalene triangle?
All sides are different measurements.
What are adjacent angles?
They share sides!!
What are vertical angles?
Angles that intersect; they are always congruent!
Are all triangles a triangle?
No!
How to find the area of composite figures?
Split the composite up, then find the area of the shapes then add those areas up.
How many sides do a hexagon have?
6
How many sides do a pentagon have?
5
When drawing a cross section, can you draw a shape with over 6 sides?
No
How do you find perimeter?
Add all the sides
How to find volume?
Volume= length•width•height
How to find surface area?
Add area of all faces. Don’t forget to multiply by 2
How to find measure of an adjacent angle?
All adjacent angles equal 80. You have to find x
You have to add, no equal sign
Find like terms (start from right to left)
What do complementary angles add up to?
There are only TWO ANGLES! They add up to 90 degrees
How do you find the measurement of a linear pair?
All linear pairs equal up to 180. You have to add same factors.
Example: 2x+5x+5=180
7x+5=180 7x=175 then you divide
How to find measure of an angle bisector?
Always find like terms.
Example: x+12=3x-10
(Start from the right side) 2x-10=12
X=11
What is the formula of circumference?
2 pie R squared.
Example: radius is 5 C=10
Which is higher, area or circumference?
Area!
