Q

Conclusions 101: how do you write em

A

Basically if the calculated value exceeds the critical at 5% , then its significant. So “You would reject the null hypothesis because the calculated value exceeds the p value at 5%/0.05. This means that there is less than 5% chance that this DIFFERENCE/RELATIONSHIP between _____ is due to chance”.

Q

What are dilution series? Describe the process

A

-A serial dilution is the step-by-step dilution of a substance in solution Stock conc- the OG 100% Then you would take 1 part of stock and 9 parts of water= 10” concentration Mix thoroughly in between each dilution. Continue to do this: 1% to 0.1%

Q

Why is a series dilution an advantage?

A

Lets you make solutions with a v low concentration without having to measure out small volumes which improves accuracy
