Ratio
Comparison of two numbers
Rate
A ratio that compares two quantities of different units
Unit rate
A ratio comparing a number of units of one quantity to one unit of a second quantity
Customary units
the units of measure used in the United States: unit for length include inches, feet, yards, and Miles; units for weight include ounces, pounds, and tons; units for volume include cubic inches, cubic feet, and cubic yards; units for capacity include fluid ounces, cups, pints, quarts, and gallons
Metric units
the units of measure used in most of the world; like the decimal system, system uses the base 10: units for length include millimeters, centimeters, meters, and kilometers; units for mass include milligrams, grams, and kilograms: units for volume include cubic millimeters, cubic centimeters, and cubic meters; units for capacity include milliliters centiliters, liters, and kiloliters

Percent
A part-to-whole ratio that compares a number to 100
Percentage
A general word used to represent a percent without a specific value
Simple interest
a method of computing interest; interest is computed from the (original) principal alone, no matter how much money has accrued so far
Percent of change
the difference between a final value and an initial value, expressed as a percentage of the initial value
Percent error
the difference between the estimated number and the actual number as a percentage of the actual value
Proportion
An equation where two ratios are equal to each other
Proportional relationships
A collection of pairs of numbers that are in equivalent ratios
