Math Conceptual Problems Flashcards
What are critical points? Where do we get them?
They are maximum and minimum points on the graph, and we get them when the slope is equal to zero.
What are the inflection points?
They are points which the concavity changes at them.
Where do we find inflection points?
We find them when the second derivative equal to zero.
What is curvature K?
The curvature K of a curve at P is the limit of its average curvature for the arc PQ as Q approaches P. This is also expressed as:
The curvature of a curve at a given point is the rate of change of its inclination with respect to its arc length.
The median
It represents the middle value in arranging the data set which is arranged from the highest to lowest value or vice versa.
The mode
It is the value that occurs with the greatest frequency.
The sample range R
It is the largest sample value minus the smallest sample value.
types measures central tendency
Mode, Median, Mean
The Central tendency
It is a set of data with a single value that represents the middle of its distribution.
types measures dispersion
Range, Standard deviation, Variance
When multiplication of matrix is possible?
When the columns of the first matrix are equal to the rows of the second matrix.
What is the determinate of matrix A if it has Row or column equal to zero?
Zero
What is the determinate of matrix A if it has two identical rows or two identical columns?
Zero
