Congruent
The same shape and size.
Polygon
A 2 dimensional shape with three or more sides.
Quadrilateral
A 2 dimensional shape with 4 sides and angles.
Rhombus:
4 congruent sides, two pairs of parallel sides, two obtuse angles, two acute angles.
Trapezoid
4 sides, one pair of parallel sides.
Parallelogram
4 sides, 2 pairs of parallel sides.
Square:
4 congruent sides, 4 congruent angles, 2 pairs of parallel sides.
Rectangle:
2 pairs of congruent sides, 2 pairs of parallel sides. (A square is also a rectangle).
Right Angle
An angle that is equal to 90 degrees.
Obtuse Angle
An angle that is greater than 90 degrees.
Acute Angle
An angle that is less than 90 degrees.
Parallel Lines
2 lines that do not intersect at any point.
Perpendicular Lines:
Two lines that intersect to form a right angle.
Intersecting Lines:
Lines that cross each other or meet at a point.
Pentagon:
A five-sided polygon.
