The table above shows the number of bad checks cashed at a certain bank for each of three years.  If the increase in the number of bad checks continued to be the same each year, what was the number of bad checks cashed at the bank in 2004?

The increase in number of bad checks is 23 per year. B-424 is the answer if 23 more is added per each year up until 2004.

The shape needs to be divided into two squares one square is 10X 7 and the other is 6X5.
The figure above represents a kitchen floor that is to be covered with square tiles that are 6 inches on a side. If the tile cost $1.50 each, what will be the cost of the tiles to cover the floor.

The figure shows a region that can be partitioned into two rectangular regions. The top is 70sq ft and the bottom is 30 sq ft. The total area to be covered is 100 sq. ft. Each tile is 6 in sides so .5 X .5 =.25 sq ft so .25 so 4 X 100 =400 tiles X 1.50 = $600
