- Due to head compression
- Normal if variability within normal and returns to baseline quickly
What are variable decels?
- Due to?
- What do we do?
Late decels: v-shaped on the strip and occur at anytime during labour
- Due to cord compression
- Change the mother’s position and stop pitocin (if infusing)
- Call PCP if continues
What are late decels?
- Due to?
- What do we do?

- Due to uteroplacental insufficiency
- Change the mother’s position and stop pitocin
- Call PCP is continues
