Components of MRP
- Master schedule

Master Schedule
AKA Master Production Schedule.
Which end items to be produced, when they are needed, and what quantities.
Bill of Materials
hierarchal list of assemblies, subassemblies, parts, and raw materials of each finished product.
Inventory Records
decscribes the status of each item by time buckets (time periods).
MRPII
Manufacturing Resources Planning. Includes all components of MRP but involves other areas of the firm.
Capacity Requirements Planning
process of determining short range capacity requirements.
• Sends load reports for each work center.
o Load reports- compare known and expected capacity requirements with projected capacity availability.
• Determines any variances (underload or overload)
• For mgmt. to consider remedies.
Time Fences
- Time intervals,
- Changes are allowed depending on which time interval
- Anything below 4 weeks is fixed.
- Demand fence and planning fence
DRP
Distributions Resource Planning for Supply Chain.
Enterprise Resource Planning
integrates finances, mfg, and human resources all in one computer system.

maintains record of onhand inventory balance and scheduled reciepts
ATP
the additional amount of a product that can be sold without modifying the master schedule.
used to commit uncomitted portion of a companys inventory or planned production.
global atp
product substitutions in the same family
