Mastery Science Exam | P4.| Flashcards
Difference between living and non-living components in an ecosystem.
A non-living component in a ecosystem is the one that is not a living organism, meaning that it does not have the ability of breath or respirate, reproduct and more different functions. This non-living factors have a great impact on the survival of living organisms.
On the other hand, a living factor has all that abilities mentioned before, also, they depend on the non-living factors to survive.
Interactions of biotic factors within an ecosystem.
Among biotic factors, there are interactions like: predation, parasitism (parasites), reproductios, competition among species, and more.
Interactions of abiotic factors within an ecosystem.
Among abiotic factors, there are interactions like: we need the abiotic factos so the biotic factors can have their interactions.
Abiotic and biotic factors: influence on one another.
Biotic factors depend on abiotic factors for their survival, to add, the proportion abiotic factors are always changing because of biotic factors, this is because they use or excrete them.
Define: habitat.
Define: ecosystem.
Compare and contrast: habitats and ecosystems: DIfferences
Compare and contrast: habitats and ecosystems: Similarities.
Identification and classification of ecosystems based on their unique characteristics.
Describe: Impact of the bioaccumulation of toxic substances on an ecosystem.
Parts of a thermodynamic system.
Relate the parts of a thermodynamic system to an ecosystem.
Relate how matter recycling and energy flow operate within a ecosystem.
Implications of the 10% trophic rule.
Concept of kilocalories as a measure of energy per square meter within ecosystems
