What is a basic sports massage
deep, invigorating anatomically specific massage that combines standard Swedish massage strokes with a few new strokes
characteristics of effleurage
hands glide/slide over the superficial tissue
always work distal to proximal in extremities
one full length stroke followed by 3-5 shorter strokes
start superficial and slow and move to deeper and faster
Purpose of effleurage
used as a beginning stroke for each body part
