Mass communication
the exchanging of information on a large scale to a wide range of people.
Print media
gathering and publishing news in the form of newspapers or magazines
Audiovisual media
Conveying information through media, such as audio and visual recordings, that are perceivable by both hearing and sight. Example: tv shows, movies, theater
Broadcast media
the distribution of audio and/or video content to a large audience via any electronic mass communications medium, but typically one using the electromagnetic spectrum. Examples: radio, tv
Bias
How your thoughts affect what you show to people. It is the skewed presentation of a story from a particular ideological position.
Media literacy
The skill of analyzing various texts in relation to the media in which they are published. Making the distinction between the devices that carry the message and the people responsible of transmitting them. A medium can determine the nature of the message.
Manufactured consent
It describes the phenomenon that a small ruling elite can shape public opinion in their favor by controlling the media.

- The people you want to hear your message
- Age
- Nationality
- Gender
- Social position and class
- Interests
- Religion
Brand image
is the current view of the customers about a brand.
Synergy
- The interaction of two or more agents or forces so that their combined effects are greater
- Synergy with technology gets the message spread faster and makes sponsoring easier
Subsidiary
- A small company owned by a larger company
- Strategy used to spread messages to a larger audience
Conglomerate
- Groups of companies that are subsidiaries
Oligopoly
- A market or industry controlled by a small group of firms
Media ownership
- Whereby progressively fewer individuals or organizations control increasing shares of the mass media.
