What are the 8 parts of maslows hierarchy?
Physiological, safety, belonging, esteem, cognitive, aesthetic, self-actualisation and transcendence.
What does physiological relate to?
Relate to our needs for survival including food, water and shelter. Our physiological needs are to be satisfied before any other need and that’s why they come first in the hierarchy.
What does safety relate to?
Relate to our physical and emotional safety. They are often met through security of a home and family, and law and order in the community.
What does belonging relate to?
Relate to our social needs such as giving and receiving affection and the feeling of acceptance. When this is fulfilled we tend to participate in social groups and interact with others. Groups include friends, sport, religious and work.
