A Theory of Human Motivation
What is maslows theory
it is a psychological theory that starts with universal needs and then moved up to more emotional aspects
What does the original hierarchy state and how has this changed
The original hierarchy states each stage has to be achieved before you can move up. However, this has been revised and today scholars think the levels are continuously overlapping, meaning people may fall back into needed the lower levels at any point.
Hofsteded
Hofsteded has criticised it for being ethnocentric, as it doesn’t register the difference between those in individualistic societies and those in collectivist societies. Individualist societies are more focused on self-improvement, collectivist societies focus on community and acceptance.
