In society the bourgeoisie dominates the proletariat. Workers become alienated from their fellow workers because they have no control over the production process

The bourgeoisie uses ideology to maintain control by convincing the proletariat that the system is fair - the proletariat suffer false class consciousness - social mobility is therefore very difficult
