A
-Repressive State Apparatus: (laws, police, gov etc.) \++Ideological State Apparatus: (family, education, media, peers etc.) controlling people's thinking. for e.g. the hidden curriculum. = keeps the working class controlled.

A
- The Correspondance Principle= the education system mirrors the workplace.
- this is done through the hidden curriculum.
- there is a myth of meritocracy, no matter how hard the w/c pupils work the education system will fail them.
- the education system must convince the w/c to go for low paid/status jobs to fill in for capitalism.
