Establish the price to be charged for the product . It should be a price consumers are willing to pay but which covers the cost of producing the good and allowing for a profit to be made
Place
Establish the distribution policy i.e. How will the product go from the manufacturer to the selling consumer . Will you sell it directly to the consumer or will you sell it to a retailer , to sell on your behalf .
Promotion
Establish the marketing advertising sales and after sales services for the product
Packaging
Packiging is very important as consumers tend to buy the products that are packaged attractively
TARGET MARKET
A target market is a group of consumers identified as being the people most likely to buy a particular product
Market segmentation
Market segmentation is the subdividing of the target market into groups of people who share common characteristics. It is so important so that different consumers of the same product can be identified. This means that the marketing mix can be adapted yo suit each market segment .
Product development
Product development is the process of creating a new product or altering an already existing one.
Unique selling point
A usp is something which sets your product apart from your competitors in the eyes and minds of your consumers
Market research
Market research is the collection and analysis of information a product and the market for that product .
What future trends are likely to be ?
Who are my competitors ?
Market size ?
Desk research
The use of information that has already been collected or published . It is useful for giving a general overview of a market e.g newspaper
Field research
The gathering of new information from research e.g questinare
Advertising
Advertising is the communication of information about a product or service to people tor try to persuade them to buy the product or service
Informative adavertising
Gives useful information to the public
Persuasive advertising
Tries to convince them that they need the product
Competitive advertising
Used to convince people that their product is better than the competitors
