What is the process for answering a market sizing question?
Step 1-Clarify the question
For every part of the question, ask clarifying questions to acertain the meaning of all words in question
Step 2- Catalog what you know (or wish you knew)
List out all the variables you will use in the formula
Step 3- Make an Equation
with variables from last part filled in
Step 4- Think about edge cases or alternate sources
Does the answer include edge cases (does that include illegal x, or broken y)?
Step 5 - Break it down
Break each variable into numbers that can be calculated
Step 6 - Review and state your assumptions
Go through why you are using numbers in certain places and why your formulas make sense
Step 7- Do the math

Step 8 - Sanity Check
Make sure the numbers make sense
