What is the 2 second rule and how is it measured?
The 2 sec rule is a guide to following traffic at a safe distance, when the vehicle in front of you passes a stationary marker (eg. Lamp post) you should count more than 2 seconds until you reach that same point. If you take longer than 2 seconds your at the minimum safe distance. In wet weather increase the count to 4 seconds. (Always drive for the road conditions!)
How would ensure your door is closed correctly?
The internal light should be off, in the mirror the doors should align perfectly, some vehicles also have a door light on the dashboard.

A Garda, School Warden and persons in charge of Animals.
What is Aquaplaning?
This is when water on the road has an adverse effect on tyre grip. Can severally affect steering and braking.
How would you check your power steering
If the steering becomes heavy the steering may be faulty. Before starting a journey two simple checks can be made. 1) Gentle pressure on the steering wheel, maintained whilst the engine is started, should result in slight but noticeable movement as the system begins to operate. 2) Turning the steering wheel after just moving off will give an immediate indication that the power assisted steering is functioning correctly.
How would you check your foot brake.
As you move off check the brakes. They should not feel spongy and the car should not pull to one side.
How would you check your handbrake.
Apply the parking brake. When it is fully applied it should secure itself
How would you check your headrest.
Ensure the headrest is at the correct height and as close to the back of your head as possible
How would you know your Anti Lock Braking system was not working.
A light will appear on the dash display.
