Mark Joyner Flashcards
What’s the bandwidth of 3G vs 4G?
How much faster?
384kbps vs 100 mbps
i.e. over x200 the speed
His stats are theoretical, which is exaggerating his point.
—
Yes 3G typically about 1/2 Mbps, 500kbps.
4G real speed typically 20Mbps.
—
So, 4G typically 40x faster than 3G in real-world use.
That’s easy to remember: ‘4’ G is ‘4’ ty times faster.
Bandwidth of 5G?
How much faster than 4G?
10 Gbps
x100+
RE: in fact based on 20MB 4G, a real speed of 10Gbps would be x500 faster. But again 10Gbps prob won’t be the real world speed.
Viz: hook 5, latching on to a dice 10.
What is the single distinguishing characteristic of a leader?
Ability to see the battlefield - to truly understand what is happening, and how to dynamically navigate towards one’s objective.
RE: to actually understand what the fuck is going on.
Dynamically navigate? I guess means to positively respond to, adapt and exploit a changing and challenging environment.
what does this means?
“let us disambiguate these two things…”
to remove the ambiguity from;
make unambiguous:
“whilst these two technologies are often conflated or confused…”
What does ‘conflate’ mean?
verb to conflate :

what’s a haberdasher?
A dealer in men’s clothing.
haberdashery - a men’s clothes shop.
“as the pace of tech advancements increases, the ** ** ** ** ** ** is only going to increase”
number of things that can be fully automated
What is a ‘meme’ in common Internet parlance?
a combo of imagery and text that communicates an idea and in extremely efficient and often humorous way.
Good memes spread virally and very rapidly.
And the added benefit? They are very hard to censor.
what does egregious mean?
offensive, outrageous
what does asymmetrical mean?
e.g. “When we consider more asymmetric ways it could all play out, things get a bit spookier…”
Asymmetric - adj
having parts which fail to correspond to one another in shape, size, or arrangement; lacking symmetry
RE: When 2 or more things/ components are unmatched.
similar: lopsided, unsymmetrical, uneven, crooked, unbalanced.
S.A.S.
what is the ‘complexity gap’?
It’s the gap between the amt of information we can process in conscious working memory and the amt of information available in the world.
