Paul Willis (1977) - neo Marxist

  • studies group of 12 wc boys (the ‘lads’) during las 18 months at school and first few months at work
  • they rejected hc and teacher labelling
  • rejected qualification —> manual jobs didn’t need qualifications
  • ‘having a laff’ was mor important than working
