What does social classes mean?
Some people have more wealth than others, so they are then seen in a higher class than those that are poorer.
Why did the people believe their chief was connected to the gods and ancestors?
Because of his wealth and he lived on the hill to live close to them.
Explain why Mapungubwe was established very differently to previous settlements?
In AD 1220 most people settled below the hill and in from of it, West side
Common court was built at the base next to tall boulder (no cattle was near)
