What does “BOLTS” stand for?
Border Orientation, Legend, Title, Scale
What is azimuthal?
A flat projection
What is conic?
A cone shaped projection
What is cylindrical?
A tube shaped projection
What is interrupted?
A banana peel shaped projection
What is an area reference?
A reference for a whole square, including four numbers. The first two are the left side, and the second two are the base.
What is a grid reference?
A grid reference refers to a point, it includes six numbers. The first three are across and the second three are up.
What is latitude?
Latitude is the invisible lines which run horizontally around the earth. They are good indicators of biome types.
What is longitude?
Longitude is the lines that run vertically on the earth. They are used for time zones.
