the easiest method to learn. This service method makes it much easier to control the ball.
Underhand serve
preferred by many players, especially by more experienced athletes. High school and varsity players apply this method during tournaments because the ball travels so fast, making it hard for the defensive team to receive or toss the ball around, or return the ball across the net.
Overhand serve
An important skill in volleyball. It would be hard to win a competition if you lack this skill.
Pass or dig
A defensive skill used to prevent the ball to get inside the court and hit the ground.
Blocking
An offensive attack done by forcing the ball to hit the ground without being touched by the opponent. It is a technique that makes it difficult for your opponent to return the ball during a rally. It is done with the use of optimum power or strength to hit the ball downward.
Spike
Used in an offensive play, particularly before the spiker attacks the ball. The setter executes a ready stance while scouting the target landing area. Fingers in both hands should be spread above the head, particularly near the forehead. Form a triangle using the thumbs, index, and middle fingers. The rest of the fingers are spread. Be sure that both hands do not touch each other. On contact with the ball, extend your arms and legs to toss the ball.
Ball setting technique
invented by Dr. James Naismith in 1891 as an indoor “athletic distraction” for students of Springfield College in the United States.

Dribbling
a necessary skill so that the receiver gets the ball properly if passed to him
