What is a pictoral map?
These maps depict an area with a more artistic rather than technical style.
What is a map?
A map is simply a drawing or picture (in 2D) of a landscape or area of a country.
What is a choropleth map?
This map is a thematic map in which areas are shaded or patterned in proportion to the measurement of the statistical variable being displayed on the map (e.g. Population, density, income).
What is an ordnance survey map?
The national mapping agency for Britain and one of the world’s largest producers of maps. These maps show places in great detail, and to scale.
What makes a good map?
Scale, title, symbols, a key, direction, clarity, level of detail.
