Red - major roads and other man-made objects

Hill, saddle, valley, ridge, depression
How many Norths are found on a military map and what are they called?
Three; True North, Grid North, and Magnetic North.
What instrument is used to determine grid azimuth on a map?
A protractor
What instrument would you use to determine magnetic azimuth in a field environment?
A compass or magnetic compass
What is the definition of map?
A portion of the earth’s surface as seen from above and, drawn to scale.
