What is Equivalent projection?
Shows true size and squish/stretches shape.
What is conformal projection?
Preserves true shapes and exaggerates areas.
What is cylindrical projection?
A person takes a sphere and projects it onto paper.
What is Peter’s projection?
Elongates the middle to keep proportionality.
What is Robinson’s projection?
The poles are elongated and stretched.
What is Mercator projection?
The areas near the poles become enlarged.
Conic Projection
A type of projection where a person uses a cone instead of a piece of paper.
Sinusdoidal Projection
An imitation of the globe, looks like a dredel.
Interrupted Projection
Very accurate, but waterways are cut off and inaccurate.
American Centered
America is the center of the map, changing perception.
Pacific Centered
The Pacific Ocean is the center of the map, changing perception.
