Patient in supine - clasp your hands around the foot with thumbs on the first and fifth MT - apply force towards you to distract

To gain DF
Patient can be supine or prone
Stabilize tib fib and then grab talus and move A to P
Talocrural Physiological DF PF
Place finger on talar neck and thumbs on calc
as PF apply compression through thumb and distraction through fingers
As DF apply compression force at fingers and distraction through thumbs
MET for talocrural
To increase DF/PF
Talocrural PA
To gain PF
Stabilize tib fib and move talus P to A
Subtalar joint close packed
eversion (like heel strike)
Subtalar open packed
neutral
Subtalar capsualr pattern
restricted in inversion Varus > Valgus
Subtalar Medial/Lateral glide
stabilize talus - grasp calc and move in a medial or lateral direction
