Clearing turns

A

Procedure:
1. Establish the Pre-Maneuvers Power setting (POWER Lever 35-40%)
2. Visually clear the area to the right, front and left. Also look for traffic above and below
your altitude.
3. Turn 90 degrees to the left.
4. Visually scan the area again.
5. Turn 180 degrees to the right.
6. Scan the area one last time.
7. Turn 90 degrees left to desired heading

A

Procedure:
1. Pre-Maneuver Checklist
2. Clearing Turns
3. POWER Lever 20%
4. Below 188 KIAS GEAR DOWN
5. Below 133 KIAS Flaps APPR
6. Below 113 KIAS Flaps LDG
7. Establish a stabilized descent at 90 KIAS with 20% power
8. Transition smoothly from the approach or landing attitude to a pitch attitude that will
induce a stall.
9. Recovery:
a. POWER Levers MAX, and Reduce Angle of Attack (AOA)
b. FLAPS APP
c. Above Vyse and positive rate GEAR UP
d. FLAPS UP

b. Pitch for 92 KIAS

A

Procedure:
1. Pre-Maneuver Checklist
2. Clearing Turns
3. Power Lever approximately 40%, clean configuration
4. Airspeed 100 KIAS
5. Roll in to a coordinated 45 (Private, MEI) or 50 (Commercial) Bank
6. Passing 30 bank, POWER Lever 10-15% and increase back pressure (as required) to
maintain coordinated leveled flight and entry airspeed
7. Recovery:
a. Start recovery within 25 of roll out heading
b. Decrease previous addition of power and pitch
8. Immediately perform maneuver in the opposite direction
9. Recover
10. Re-establish normal flight path

Vmc Demonstration

A

Procedure:
1. Pre-Maneuver Checklist
2. Clearing Turns
3. POWER Lever 40-45%
a. Airspeed 90-100KIAS
4. GEAR UP
5. FLAPS UP
6. Left POWER Lever IDLE
7. Smoothly advance Right Power Lever MAX
8. Rudder as required to maintain directional control
9. Establish a bank of no more than 5 towards operative engine
10. Increase the pitch attitude slowly to reduce the air speed at approximately 1 knot per second while applying rudder pressure to maintain directional control until full rudder is applied.
11. Recognize indications impending loss of directional control(stall warning or buffet)
12. Right Power Lever IDLE, Right rudder input comes out.
13. Reduce Angle of Attack, pitch forward (Flight path vector on or slightly below horizon)
14. Advance Right Power Lever to MAX, Right rudder as required and accelerate to Vyse and stabilized climb
