Question 1

Parallel park

Answer 1

1) Remember to left side mirrors (so it’s halfway)
2) Turn wheel to the left (full lock?)
3) Reverse
4) Turn full lock to the right (so bonnet swings to left) until straightened up
5) Reverse back to see tyres and bit of tarmac

REMEMBER TO ADJUST MIRRORS BEFORE MOVING OFF

Right side reverse

• Remember to WAIT until it’s clear and there’s 2 car spaces behind
• Indicate to right and move over then stop
• Remember to look over shoulder when reversing and use mirrors
• When looking round, remember to look over LEFT shoulder and indicate before heading off

Emergency Stop

BBC (BREAK BEFORE CLUTCH)

• Keep both hands firmly grasping on the steering wheel.
• Press as hard as you can can on the brake pedal and keep full pressure applied until you come to a stop.
• Press the clutch pedal down just before you come to a stop to prevent the engine from stalling.
• Once the car is stationary, apply the handbrake, select neutral and release your feet from the pedals.
• Look all around before moving off again.

Reverse bay park

Mirrors first - about halfway down
Reverse back until totally mid bay 2 bays ahead of parked bay is totally in line with EYE-LINE
- Turn wheel FULL LOCK to the right (if car park on right)
- Stop car: apply HAND-BREAK
- Straighten wheels
- Reverse back V. SLOWLY until fully in the box
- Remember to keep looking around!

Forward parking into a bay

PART 1 - ENTER

KEEP THE CARE EXTREMELY SLOW

1) Drive to the opposite (left) side of the side of the bay (right) you wish you drive into
2) Final check over the shoulder/door mirror and blind spot
3) Indicate
2) Push the clutch right down
3) Turn wheel on full lock and slowly go in

Question 7

Forward parking into a bay

PART 2 - EXIT

Answer 7

1) Reverse until your eyes are aligned with the end line of the bay
2) DO NOT BACK INTO BAY BEHIND
3) Turn wheel on complete LOCK
4) Pls check blind spot (left for left and right for right - depending where you reversed)
5) Use handbrake and turn wheel
6) Move into first gear
7) Drive off wahoo!
