Maneuvers Flashcards
Windshear Escape Maneuver
- Manual Flight-
- Pilot Monitoring-
- Assure throttles are full forward (to mechanical stops).
* Verify all required actions have been completed and call out any omissions.
Windshear Escape Maneuver
- Automatic Flight-
- Pilot Flying-
- Press either TO/GA switch.1
- Verify TO/GA mode annunciation.
- Verify thrust advances to GA thrust.
- Retract speedbrakes.
- Monitor system performance.
Windshear Escape Maneuver
- Automatic Flight-
- Pilot Monitoring-
- Assure GA thrust.2
* Verify all required actions have been completed and call out any omissions.
Ground Proximity Warning
Activation of the “PULL UP,” “OBSTACLE, OBSTACLE PULL UP,” or “TERRAIN TERRAIN PULL UP” warning
-Pilot Flying-
- Disconnect autopilot.
- Disconnect autothrottle(s).
- Aggressively advance throttles full forward (to mechanical stops).
- Simultaneously roll wings level and rotate toward an initial pitch attitude of 20°.
- Retract speedbrakes.
• Do not change gear or flap configuration until terrain separation is assured.
- Monitor radio altimeter for sustained or increasing terrain separation.
- When clear of the terrain, slowly decrease pitch attitude and accelerate.
Ground Proximity Warning
Activation of the “PULL UP,” “OBSTACLE, OBSTACLE PULL UP,” or “TERRAIN TERRAIN PULL UP” warning
-Pilot Monitoring-
• Assure throttles are full forward (to mechanical stops).
• Monitor vertical speed and altitude (radio altitude for terrain clearance and barometric altitude for a minimum safe altitude).
• Call out any trend toward terrain contact.
TCAS RA
(except a climb in landing configuration)
-Pilot Flying-
If maneuvering is required, disengage the autopilot and autothrottle. Smoothly adjust pitch and thrust to satisfy the RA command. Follow the planned lateral flight path unless visual contact with the conflicting traffic requires other action.
TCAS RA
For a climb RA in Landing Configuration
-Pilot Flying-
Disengage the autopilot and autothrottle. Advance thrust levers forward to ensure maximum thrust is attained and call for FLAPS 20. Smoothly adjust pitch to satisfy the RA command. Follow the planned lateral flight path unless visual contact with the conflicting traffic requires other action.
Verify a positive rate of climb on the altimeter and call “GEAR UP.”
TCAS RA
For a climb RA in Landing Configuration
-Pilot Monitoring-
Verify maximum thrust set. Position flap lever to 20 detent.
Verify a positive rate of climb on the altimeter and call “POSITIVE RATE.”
Set landing gear lever to UP.
Rejected Take-off
-Captain-
Without delay, simultaneously:
- Close the thrust levers.
- Disengage the autothrottles.
- Apply maximum manual wheel brakes or verify operation of RTO autobrakes.
Apply maximum reverse thrust consistent with conditions.
Raise speedbrake lever.
Rejected Take-off
-First Officer-
Verify actions as follows:
- Thrust levers closed.
- Autothrottles disengaged.
- Maximum brakes applied.
Verify reverse thrust applied.
Ensure full deployment of the speedbrakes.
Call out any omitted action items.
Call out 80 knots.
Notify the tower of the reject and request emergency equipment, if necessary.
Missed Approach
- Announce-“Going Around.”
- TO/GA.
- “Flaps 20.”(flaps 30) or “Flaps 5.”(flaps 20).
Ensure go-around thrust for the nominal climb rate is set and monitor autopilot performance. - “Positive rate.” - “Gear up.”
- “Confirm missed-approach altitude set.”
Windshear Escape Maneuver
- Manual Flight-
- Pilot Flying-
- Push either TO/GA switch.
- Aggressively advance throttles full forward (to mechanical stops).
- Disconnect autothrottle(s).
- Simultaneously roll wings level and rotate toward an initial pitch attitude of 15°.
- Retract speedbrakes.
- Follow flight director TO/GA guidance (if available). PLI upper pitch limit.
