Children have the right to a continuous environment which they can flourish

Families and children entitled to be informed of their rights and participate in decision making affecting those rights
Preventive
Families entitled to receive preventative and supportive services directed at preserving the family unit
Cultural and linguistic
Families are entitled to services with respect to their cultural and linguistic heritage
Placements
Decisions to place a child based on the child’s best interests not family financial status
Community responsibility
Communities have a responsibility to promote best interests of the children and families and have the right to participate in the services
Indian bands
Indian bands are entitled to cfs in a manner which respects their unique status as aboriginal peoples
