  1. Oestrogen and progesterone to women with a uterus as unopposed oestrogen causes endometrial proliferation so need prog to counteract this

A

Unscheduled vaginal bleeding is common during the first 3 months

  1. VTE
  2. Ischaemic stroke
  3. Breast cancer
  4. Coronary heart disease

What other treatments can be used in menopause treatment?

A
  1. SSRI / CBT - to help with low mood and helps with hot flushes
  2. Clonidine - reduces flushes and sweats
  3. Topical vaginal oestrogen - Vagifem
    - eases urogenital atrophy symptoms
  4. Testosterone gel for low sexual desire
