From processes in the physical environment.
List some examples of natural hazards.

Why is it important and urgent to find sustainable ways to manage hazards in cities?
Because hazards can turn into disasters, where they can cause damage to people and their properties.
When do the negative impacts of hazards increase greatly?
When cities have:
1. large population size
2. high population density
3. wide-spread built-up areas
Why must hazards be managed properly?
If mismanaged, the human costs of injuries and deaths as well as the economic costs of rebuilding as a result of hazards could be very high.
