A
-50% of Ptnts with Urticaria –> free from lesions after 1 Year
-20% have lesions for over 20 years:
> physical urticaria are more persistent (cholinergic most common)

Treatment
A
1) IDENTIFY + avoid precipitating factors
2) Anti-Histamines:
> Oral H1-Blockers (Hydroxyzine/Loratadine) –> contra in Chronic Urticaria (cessation usually leads to Reoccurance)
> if Uneffec: H1 + H2 Blockers (Cametidine)
or mast cell-stabilizing agents
> TCA (severe cases of Uritcaria assoc with Anxiety + dep)
3) PREDNISONE:
- used in Acute Urticaria w/ Angioedema
4) Danazol:
- long term therapy for HAE
