100% oxygen
Subcutaneous Triptan
Prophylaxis :
VeRAPimil- because you RAP in clusters of rhyme :)
What is the management for eclampsia
Magnesium sulphate to prevent and treat seizure. Should continue for 24 hours after last seizure or delivery .
Calcium gluconate is used for respiratory depression induced calcium gluconate
What is the investigation of choice for infectious mononucleosis and what should you avoid doing after having it?
FBC and Monospot tests- heterophil antibody test in 2nd week of illness
Avoid contact sports for 4 weeks to reduce splenic rupture
What is the management for tension headaches
Aspirin, paracetamol or NSAIDS first line in acute attack
Prophylaxis- 10 sessions of accupunture over 5-8 weeks
What is he management for ALS _prlongs life for 3 months
Riluzole - because you are trying to Resolve the ALS - prevents stimulation of glutamate receptors
What is the management for MS
In an acute relapse : high dose steroids- oral or IV methylprednisolone 5 days
Reduce relapse:
Natalizumab or ocrelizumab
What is the first line management for myasthenia gravies
(Better with rest)
First line: pyridostigmine - achesterase inhibitors
Crisis management: plasmapherisis , iv immunoglobulins
