Iodine Deficiency Disorders
Due to Thiamin or other B Vitamin deficiency
Beri-beri
Due to gross deficiency in riboflavin or vitamin B2
Ariboflavinosis
Excessive intakes of certain nutrients which cause toxic effects
Toxicity
Pathological state resulting from a relative or absolute lack of individual nutrient
Specific deficiency
Enlargement of thyroid gland, caused by iodine deficiency either due to dietary deficiency or factors other than diet
Goiter
Pathological state resulting from the consumption of an inadequate quantity of food
Undernutrition
Pathological state resulting from a disproportion among essential nutrients with or without absolute deficiency of any nutrient.
Imbalance
Pathological state resulting from the consumption of an excessive quantify of food, and hence a calorie excess, over an extended period of time
Overnutrition
Related to current state of nutrition, manifested by weight loss, low weight-for-height although height-for-age is normal
Acute malnutrition
Related to past state of nutrition, manifested by stunting, or nutritional dwarfism or low height-for-age
Chronic Manutrition
Caused by inadequate food intake
Primary malnutrition
